Dear Mayle,
Thank you for your letter 54147/46 of the 12th January about Hong Kong University.
We shall of course be glad to be associated with the proposed enquiry, and Sir Humphrey Prideaux- Brune, who is at present attached to the Cultural Relations Department of the Foreign Office, has agreed to act as the Foreign Office representative on the Committee.
I understand that Sir Humphrey has already attended the first meeting of the Committee, held on the 18th January, as an observer. We would like him to attend future meetings as a member of the Committee.
Yours sincerely,
J.C Standale Bennell
(J.C. Sterndale Bennett).
